FAQ
WHY IS OUR COFFEE SOOOO GOOD?
Our roastery imports only the best premium Arabica coffees from around the world which makes our coffee superior over store-bought, canned coffee. To reduce costs, store brands use low grade Robusta beans, coffee grown at lower altitudes, then mix in small amounts of superior tasting Arabica to mask Robustas inferior flavor.
There are no Robusta beans in Errant's Choice Coffee. All Errant Choice coffees are fair trade and ethically sourced which provides producers the ability to invest in sustainable farming practices to produce premium coffee.
WILL YOU BE ADDING OTHER COFFEES AND PRODUCTS?
Yes, we are planning to add other coffee blends and varietals along with pods and K-cups and gift cards.
DO YOU PLAN TO OFFER SUBSCRIPTIONS?
Yes, subscriptions will be available in early 2025.
HOW DO I BEST STORE MY COFFEE?
Coffee should be stored in a cool, dark space, but never in a refrigerator or freezer. Unopened bags of coffee have a shelf life of up to one year. Opened ground coffee has a shelf life of about 30 days, while opened whole-bean coffee is about 60 days. The reason for this is that once exposed to air, the oils in coffee begin to dry out and the quality begins to rapidly deteriorate. Ground coffee has more surface area exposed to air, hence a shorter shelf life.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO BREW COFFEE?
There are many methods to brewing coffee, all of which can produce a great cup of coffee by knowing and experimenting with different grinds along with varying amounts of coffee vs. water (filtered). The average mix is 16 parts of water to 1 part of coffee. Keep in mind that both over-extraction and under-extraction can produce an undesirable flavor.
Of course, grinding whole-beans to the grind suitable for the brewing method you use, will always produce the freshest cup of coffee. The variations of methods along with their matching grinds and amounts of water are too numerous to list in this FAQ. Errants are known for doing their own research. If your looking to maximize your coffee experience, learn and experiment with your brewing method. You'll be glad you did!
